Orlando Health Medical Group is seeking full-time and part-time OB/GYN Hospitalists to join the nationally recognized team at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, a premier women’s hospital in downtown Orlando.

 

Physicians provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, primarily covering Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, OB/GYN Triage, and emergent GYN surgery. The program also supports coverage at Orlando Health South Lake Hospital and Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital.

  • Full-time physicians work 14 clinical 12-hour shifts per month, completed through 12-hour shifts at Winnie Palmer and 24-hour shifts at South Lake and Lake Mary (each 24-hour shift counts as two).
  • No call; ability to pick up additional shifts
  • Collaborative model with 24/7 OB Anesthesia, inhouse Neonatology (142-bed Level IV NICU), APP support, and multiple OB attendings on-site
  • Robust subspecialty support including Maternal Fetal Medicine, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, UroGynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Breast Medical and Surgical Oncology, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary starting at $380,000
  • $50,000 sign-on bonus plus annual performance and retention bonuses
  • Full benefits package, malpractice coverage, retirement with match, and paid CME
  • Florida license, DEA, NICA, and ACOG membership covered
  • Florida has no state income tax

Facility Description

Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, part of the Orlando Health Women’s Institute, has provided care dedicated to the unique needs of women and newborns since opening on the downtown Orlando campus in 2006. A highly skilled team provides specialized care that covers all facets of women’s health from comprehensive gynecological services and complex minimally invasive surgeries to general obstetrics and high-risk pregnancies, births and newborn care. The Orlando Health Winnie Palmer nursing team has held Magnet® recognition for nursing excellence and quality patient care from the American Nurses Credentialing Center since 2013, and the hospital has earned Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care from The Joint Commission, the first in Florida to receive this designation.

 

Orlando Health Winnie Palmer is one of the largest-volume and most experienced obstetrical centers in the U.S., with nearly 14,000 deliveries every year. The hospital’s 350 beds include 142 neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) beds, making it one of the largest NICUs in the country. The designated Level IV NICU provides the highest level of care available for premature and high-risk newborns, and the hospital has been recognized with a national ranking in Neonatology by U.S. News & World Report as well as Level IV Maternal Levels of Care Verification from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and The Joint Commission, the nation’s oldest and largest healthcare accrediting agency. This program helps to ensure facilities have the right resources, staff, equipment and processes in place to meet patient needs and risk level. The hospital also is the first in Florida to receive Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care from The Joint Commission and is a Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center for the state of Florida, whereby high-risk obstetrical patients and their infants are referred to our specialists.
